FOSTER CHAMPS OF WASHINGTON MISSION

Foster Champs of Washington is dedicated to empowering families and at-risk youth by bridging the gap between what the system provides and what families truly need. We create a foundation and platform for children to build lasting memories with their siblings, whether through special events, community dinners, or meaningful connections.

We believe that family isn’t just about where you come from—it’s about who stands beside you. No matter how a family is formed—foster, adoptive, kinship, step, in-law, or "outlaw"—we are here to support, uplift, and champion every child and caregiver.

OUR MISSION BREAKDOWN

1. Empowering and Supporting At-Risk Youth – Providing resources, advocacy, and real-life support for youth navigating mental health challenges, trauma, and instability.

2. Strengthening Foster, Adoptive, and Kinship Families – Helping caregivers access the tools, connections, and encouragement they need to create stable, loving homes.

3. Building Community and Reuniting Families – Hosting events that bring people together, including sibling reunions, family dinners, and mentorship opportunities.

4. Bridging the Gap Between the System and Real Needs – Connecting families with resources the system doesn’t always provide, ensuring kids and caregivers have the support they deserve.

5. Embracing All Families – We don’t question who is foster, adoptive, kinship, step, in-law, or “outlaw”—if you’re in a home together, you’re family. We support and celebrate every unique family structure, because love and commitment make a family, not labels.

WHY?

Because every child deserves a forever family and until that is achieved we are there to show the child they are loved and cared for.  We believe every child should be afforded opportunities like attending a friend’s birthday party (with a gift), joining a sport team, walking at graduation in a cap and gown, and feel like they belong and that their life matters!

OUR HISTORY

The idea of Foster Champs began with Lisa Enos-Wiscomb, a woman with a passion for helping children, particularly the underserved. She began hosting monthly support meetings for foster families in 2010. Foster Champs expanded into a nonprofit organization in 2012 with Kim Emmons, under the parent company Social Enterprises. Lisa Wiscomb passed away in 2016, but her legacy lives on in Foster Champs. In 2020, under the leadership of Lisa’s sister Rachael Willis, Foster Champs branched out into their own 501(3)c public charity nonprofit organization. We are 100% volunteer based. Foster Champs took on the new name of Foster Champs of WA and is now under the leadership of Ashley Bayliss-White the Executive Director and her amazing board members
